The next meeting of the above section will be held on Friday 2cnd May 2008, at the Vines Hotel, Lime St, Liverpool, commencing at 1pm.

THERE WILL BE A BUFFET AT THE MEETING

Minutes of the A G M held at the Vines Hotel Lime St, 8th February 2008.
1. Chairman.

The Chairman informed the meeting that the Secretary. Allan Trotter could not attend the meeting and asked Frank Kearns to take the chair and he would report on items he had discussed with Allan.

3. Minutes.

Minutes of the last meeting were agreed as a true record by J Smith and Ray Walker.

4. Matters arising.

There were no matters arising.

5. Secretary’s Report.

On behalf of the Secretary the Chairman reported on the NW Retired Members Council at Manchester where items about the Link Magazine and the Retired Members Conference and the motions that where going to Annual Conference. The meeting also agreed to support the motion calling for Job Security for Agency workers. He gave details of the forum to take place in Manchester on the 29th February.

6. Treasurers Report

The Treasurer reported that the cost of the Christmas Party had been covered by the branch,
There was no change to the amount in the fund.

Jim Smith raised the issue of prescription charges only being now paid in England. Ray Walker said and was supported by Jim Smith that the Christmas Party was the best so far since the section started. Ray also asked in the money paid nationally to the Labour Party was published, Vinnie said the visit to Parliament was a success but was disappointed at the number of MP’s who turned up. Seven names were put forward to the Manchester Forum. Ray Walker asked if a minute book was kept.
