Allan Trotter could not attend the meeting and asked Frank Kearns to take the chair and he would report on items he had discussed with Allan. 2. Apologies. A D Trotter. Secretary. 3. Minutes. Minutes of the last meeting were agreed as a true record
by J Smith and Ray Walker. There were no matters arising. 5. Secretary’s Report. On behalf of the Secretary the Chairman reported on the NW Retired Members Council at Manchester where items about the Link Magazine and the Retired Members Conference and the motions that where going to Annual Conference. The meeting also agreed to support the motion calling for Job Security for Agency workers. He gave details of the forum to take place in Manchester on the 29th February. 6. Treasurers Report The Treasurer reported that the cost of the Christmas
Party had been covered by the branch, A O B Jim Smith raised the issue of prescription charges only being now paid in England. Ray Walker said and was supported by Jim Smith that the Christmas Party was the best so far since the section started. Ray also asked in the money paid nationally to the Labour Party was published, Vinnie said the visit to Parliament was a success but was disappointed at the number of MP’s who turned up. Seven names were put forward to the Manchester Forum. Ray Walker asked if a minute book was kept. A D Trotter The Retired Members Section now had a page on the Branch
