ANNUAL REPORT 2009

The retired Members Section has just under two hundred members. .We have held meetings four times this year at the Vines Hotel, Lime St Liverpool, which has become our regular venue. Our meetings are as much a social gathering as a means of bringing Retired Members up-to-date with Pensioners news.

At the AGM in October the meeting elected the following: Chair, Ron Taylor,
Secretary, Allan Trotter, Treasurer, Bob Johnson, Committee, Jimmy Smith and Frank Kelly.

We have also in June attended the Pensioners Convention at Blackpool.. The CWU is affiliated to the National Pensioners Convention who at every opportunity lobby Members of Parliament and the Government on Pensioners issues.

The officers have attended the Regional Meetings held in Manchester and the Retired
Members Annual Conference at CWU Headquarters.

A party was held at the Eldonian Centre, Vauxhall Rd on 9th December 2009.
